In 2007, after practicing with several well-respected Intellectual Property law firms, Rakesh founded Garg IP Group, Inc., a patent prosecution practice representing clients with patent preparation and prosecution needs. That patent prosecution practice has grown and transformed into Garg Law Firm, PLLC, providing a wide range of sophisticated legal services in Intellectual Property law.
Rakesh has over fifteen years of experience in the software industry, which includes working in a variety of technologies at Netscape Communications, and American Airlines/SABRE. He has provided his technological expertise and consulting services to many industry-leading clients in their deployment of e-Commerce infrastructure and other web technologies.
A substantial part of Rakesh’s experience has also been in creating, managing, and operating hi-tech start-up ventures, including GlobeRanger Corporation, which is now a part of Fujitsu. He actively mentors entrepreneurs and consults with new hi-tech ventures in advisory capacity.
Rakesh's practice in intellectual property law spans more than a decade. His services include preparing and prosecuting patents concerning a variety of technological areas, such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, cognitive computing, quantum computing, semiconductor design and fabrication, social media, mobile devices, cybersecurity, electronic circuits, telecommunications, computer software, computer hardware, network architecture, and many others. Rakesh also has extensive experience with wireless technologies, Radio Frequency Identification, supply chain applications, e-commerce technologies, enterprise applications, and middleware platforms. Rakesh works with clients in developing and refining intellectual property strategies.
Rakesh earned his J.D. (Cum Laude) in 2008 from Southern Methodist University and is admitted to practice in Texas and before the USPTO. He also holds a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and a Master's degree in Computer Science.
