SMS / Text Messaging Policy

This page describes how Garg Law Firm, PLLC uses text messaging, how to opt in and out, and what you can expect when you receive a message from us.

Garg Law Firm, PLLC is an intellectual property law firm located in Houston, Texas. We represent inventors, entrepreneurs, and businesses in patent preparation and prosecution, portfolio management, IP litigation support, and licensing matters before the USPTO and worldwide.

2. Campaign Description

Garg Law Firm, PLLC operates a transactional and informational SMS messaging campaign for the purpose of communicating with current clients, prospective clients, and job applicants regarding matters directly related to legal representation, case status, scheduling, and firm administrative matters.

This campaign is a low-volume, non-promotional campaign. We do not use text messaging for mass marketing, unsolicited advertising, or bulk promotional outreach. All messages are sent in the context of an existing or prospective attorney-client or employment inquiry relationship.

Use cases covered by this campaign include:

  • Appointment reminders and scheduling confirmations
  • Case status updates and deadline reminders for active clients
  • Responses to inbound inquiries submitted via our website contact form, email, or phone
  • Follow-up on matters where the recipient has initiated contact with the firm
  • Employment application status updates for job applicants who have opted in
  • Firm announcements relevant to an active representation or pending inquiry

This campaign does not involve: automated bulk messaging, mass marketing blasts, lead generation lists purchased from third parties, or any content prohibited under TCPA, CTIA guidelines, or carrier 10DLC policies.


3. How to Opt In

You may opt in to receive SMS messages from Garg Law Firm, PLLC through any of the following methods:

Web Form Opt-In

When submitting a contact form, consultation request, or job application on www.garglaw.com, you may check a box indicating your consent to receive text messages from the firm. The opt-in checkbox language reads:

"I consent to receive text messages from Garg Law Firm, PLLC at the mobile number provided. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help."

Verbal or Written Consent

During an intake call, consultation, or in-person meeting, you may provide verbal or written consent to receive text messages from the firm. A record of such consent is maintained in our client intake system.

Inbound Text Initiation

If you send a text message to our designated firm number, your act of initiating contact constitutes consent to receive a reply text response from the firm regarding the subject matter of your inquiry.

Note: Consent to receive SMS messages is never required as a condition of purchasing any legal service, retaining the firm, or otherwise engaging with Garg Law Firm, PLLC.


By opting in, you expressly consent to receive text messages from Garg Law Firm, PLLC sent to the mobile phone number you provided. You represent that you are the account holder or authorized user of that mobile number.

Your consent applies only to messages from Garg Law Firm, PLLC. We do not share opt-in data with any third party for the purpose of sending messages on behalf of another entity. We do not sell, transfer, or share your mobile number with any affiliate, partner, or third-party messaging provider for their independent marketing use.

Consent records, including the date, time, method of opt-in, and phone number, are retained in accordance with applicable law and carrier requirements.


5. Types of Messages We Send

Messages sent under this campaign may include:

  • Appointment reminders: "This is a reminder of your consultation with Garg Law Firm on [date] at [time]."
  • Case updates: "Your USPTO response deadline is approaching. Please contact us at your earliest convenience."
  • Scheduling follow-ups: "We received your inquiry and would like to schedule a call. Are you available this week?"
  • Document or action notifications relevant to your matter
  • Employment application updates: "We have received your application and will be in touch shortly."

All messages will identify the sender as Garg Law Firm or Garg Law Firm, PLLC.


6. Message Frequency

Message frequency varies based on the nature of your matter and your interaction with the firm. There is no fixed schedule of recurring messages. Most recipients receive between 1 and 4 messages per month in connection with an active matter or inquiry. You will not receive unsolicited recurring messages.


7. How to Opt Out (STOP)

To stop receiving text messages from Garg Law Firm, PLLC at any time, reply STOP to any message we send.

You will receive a one-time confirmation message acknowledging your opt-out. After that, no further messages will be sent to your number unless you affirmatively re-opt in.

You may also opt out by:

  • Emailing info@garglaw.com with your name, mobile number, and a request to be removed from SMS communications
  • Calling or writing to us at the contact information listed in Section 12

Opt-out requests will be processed promptly and no later than 10 business days from receipt. Opting out of SMS messages does not affect any other communication channel or your legal representation by the firm.

Other recognized opt-out keywords that we honor: CANCEL, END, QUIT, UNSUBSCRIBE, STOP ALL.


8. How to Get Help (HELP)

Reply HELP to any message from us to receive the following automated response:

"Garg Law Firm, PLLC: For assistance, email info@garglaw.com or visit www.garglaw.com. Reply STOP to opt out. Msg&Data rates may apply."

You may also contact us directly at any time using the contact information in Section 12.


9. Message and Data Rates

Message and data rates may apply. Text messages sent by Garg Law Firm, PLLC to your mobile number, and any replies you send, may be charged by your mobile carrier at your standard messaging and data plan rates. Garg Law Firm, PLLC does not charge any fee for text messages.

Contact your mobile carrier if you are uncertain about your plan's messaging and data charges.


10. Privacy

Your mobile phone number and any information you share with us via text message are treated as confidential in the same manner as all client and prospective client information. We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile phone number with third parties for marketing purposes.

Information collected in connection with our SMS program may be stored in our client management system and used only for the purposes described in this policy. For general information about how we handle personal information, please contact us at info@garglaw.com.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.


11. Supported Carriers

Our SMS campaign operates over the major U.S. wireless carriers, including but not limited to:

  • AT&T
  • T-Mobile / Metro by T-Mobile
  • Verizon
  • U.S. Cellular
  • Cricket Wireless
  • Boost Mobile
  • Other regional and MVNO carriers participating in 10DLC

Carrier message delivery is not guaranteed. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Continued use of our SMS service following any update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
